A transcript preserves spoken content. The visual change belongs in the analysis, not inside a quotation attributed to the speaker.

- Hook
- A familiar explanation is challenged immediately. The second sentence points to a specific action the viewer can change.
- Visual beat
- The two slices make the explanation inspectable. Without that comparison, the middle is only an assertion.
- Limit of the evidence
- These observations explain how the demonstration is arranged. They cannot establish watch time, conversion or why a real post went viral.

The words are one layer of the Reel
An Instagram video transcript tells you what was said. It does not tell you that the creator paused before a reveal, cut to a close-up, or showed the result before explaining the method. Karmo analyzes the source video so you can read the speech alongside those decisions.
The Transcript section contains copyable text and, when reliable timing is available, speech segments paired with visual observations. The Analysis section explains the hook and progression. Your rewrite stays in its own section.
From a useful quote to a useful structure
Use the transcript to check the exact promise in the opening, locate the explanation that follows it, or see whether the ending resolves the setup. Then compare those words with the beat map. You can ask for a shorter rewrite without downloading or analyzing the Reel again.

What you can transcribe
Use a public Reel or video post that exposes a downloadable video. Private, restricted and unavailable posts cannot be processed. Speech is transcribed in its source language; unclear words and timings need checking. Music-only videos may have no spoken transcript. Older saved analyses may contain text without timestamps.

An Instagram Reel transcript is the spoken content as readable text. Captions synchronize words to playback. Karmo’s Source Transcript is a saved text within an analysis; it is not an SRT subtitle editor or a caption-publishing service.

How should you check an Instagram transcript before using it?
Start with the opening. One missed negation can reverse a hook’s meaning. Then check product names, spoken numbers and any point where music overlaps speech. Treat uncertain audio as uncertain; a neatly formatted sentence is not proof it was heard correctly.
Next, distinguish speech from on-screen text. A creator can show “three mistakes” while saying something else. Karmo records visual observations separately so a screen caption is not silently passed off as a quotation.
Finally, use the transcript to locate a creative decision rather than to reproduce an entire source. For example, note that a question comes before the demonstration, then write a question that belongs to your own topic.
Questions before you paste a Reel
Can I copy the full Instagram transcript?
Yes. Open a completed analysis, select Transcript and use Copy transcript. Copying a saved result does not trigger another analysis or consume another credit.
Can I transcribe a Reel in another language?
Karmo asks its video model to preserve the spoken language in Source Transcript. Recognition quality depends on the source audio. The interface language and rewrite language are separate from the words spoken in the video.
Is this useful if I only need one sentence?
If you can hear and verify the sentence yourself, manual transcription may be enough. Karmo is more useful when you also need the hook, visual context and a new script. A URL submission always starts the complete paid workflow.
