Connect Karmo to ChatGPT.

Connect the Karmo remote MCP server to ChatGPT with OAuth. You need a Karmo account with a completed content profile, an active paid plan, and access to custom MCP connections in your OpenAI account or workspace.

This is a custom connection setup, not a claim that Karmo is already listed in the public directory. Your workspace administrator may need to enable developer mode or approve the connection.

Add Karmo to ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Security and login, then enable Developer mode if available.
  2. Open ChatGPT Plugins and select the plus button. Enter Karmo and a short description of the video workflow.
  3. Under Connection, enter the production MCP URL. Select OAuth. Karmo supports automatic client registration; leave client credentials blank when the interface allows it.
  4. Create the connection. Sign in on Karmo’s authorization screen and review the requested access and credit costs before approving.
  5. Review the four discovered tools, then add the connection from the tools menu in a new conversation.

These steps follow OpenAI’s current connection guide. Account and workspace availability can differ.

Test a small workflow

Start with “Analyze this public Instagram Reel: [URL].” The result should include an analysis ID. Follow with “Get the transcript using that analysis ID.” The second request should reuse saved text.

Then ask “Rewrite that analysis for an audience of independent shop owners.” This updates the saved script and uses 1 credit. Supplying a fresh URL instead would start another 11-credit analysis.

Using the same endpoint in Codex

Add an HTTP MCP server named karmo in your Codex MCP configuration with the same URL, then complete its OAuth login. For CLI setup, use codex mcp add karmo --url https://api.trykarmo.com/mcp, followed by codex mcp login karmo. Karmo supports dynamic OAuth client registration, so compatible clients can register during connection setup.

If the connection does not work

No tools: confirm the URL includes /mcp and refresh the connection after server updates. Repeated sign-in: reconnect and check that you approved the correct account. Plan or credit error: open Karmo’s workspace and check the subscription and balance. Source unavailable: try another public video.
